The East Calgary Twin Arenas Society (ECTAS) was formed about 40 years ago to facilitate the building and operations of a Twin Ice Arena and a lounge and restaurant located at 299 Erin woods Drive S.E. in the community of Erinwoods.
The 7 communities are active owners and administrators of ECTAS.

There is a Board of Directors which runs the day-to-day affairs of the organization and gives direction and guidance to the staff in the operation of the facility. The board ensures that the facility is maintained and operated in a cost-effective manner to ensure the long-time viability of the facility.
The ECTAS Board consists of a President, 1st and 2nd Vice-President, Secretary and up to two Directors from each of the 7 Communities. All volunteers – with no remuneration.
The staff consists of an General Manager, Office Manager and Food Services manager. There are also full/part-time operators, rink attendants, janitors, and food services staff. The turnover of staff is usually very low, and many are longtime residents from within the seven communities.
Voting members at the AGM are those who are eighteen (18) years of age and over and those who are voting members of one of the 7 communities.
Currently, we are looking for some members from communities to volunteer to sit on the board for their community. If you happen to know anyone from these communities who would be interesting in volunteering (usually just 1 meeting per month) either as a community board member or for an open position, please contact the office or myself.
